We always try to catch the news (networks, one or the other, except we find Fox a little more--dedicated??--to one viewpoint). Only half humorously, we call it "the official communique"... We try to balance that with the local Blatt (not really all that bad a paper, but, like every outlet, with its own viewpoints), but you also have to listen to/read the alternative outlets. They can be pretty far out at times, more entertainment (accidentally) than news, but, still, invaluable for things the "Establishment" media can"t or won"t cover. Years ago there was a cartoon of a middle-aged couple at the breakfast table, hubby with the morning paper, saying "Now I understand why my father used to tear the paper to shreds every morning"...
