as gary said, orange and green were the new idea colors in the era of the mow-ditioners and cut-ditioners. a book i have shows the 290 as being built from 1976 to 1981. the lot number, not the serial number, on the tag, will be the key to which year (new idea's system). my book doesn't have the breakdown of years.
