I"ll ignore the opportunity to be a wise guy, and just give you the facts: "BO" is the model designation given to JD tractors of the more common "B" series that were made with the lower, standard tread frame, non adjustable tread width, and more streamlined sheet metal that was specially designed and marketed for use in "O"rchards. Optioned to be able to work under low=hanging fruit trees, etc. without causing damage to trees or operator. Hence the designation "B" (basic model) "O" (Orchard)
