Same tractor as before, I was bush hoging with it and got into a situation I couln't go over so i decided to back out.
When I put it in reverse, it went forward.
It seems to be stuck in second or something because when it is in neutral it still goes forward. when I put it in second it acts like its in forward and reverse at the same time because it bogs the engine.
Someone said I could put it back in gear by sliding the carriers on the three rails by looking in the oil filler, but I only see two rails.
Nothing I do gets it back in gear.
last resort is to pull the steering cloumn whith the engine failing I am inclinded to let whoever rebuilds the engine for me to put it back in gear.
My only reluctance is that I know that's going to cost money, and I'd rather put all the money into the engine.
It's a really sweet engine that looks like someone who knew what they were doing resolved the interior cylinder wall cracks. there are two high strength torsion bolts between the cylinders. VERY NICE JOB!
any suggestions on the transmission before I turn it over to the mechanic?
