In that series, after a slow start with the MT, JD did better with the 40, then finally pretty much got it right with the 420 5 speed/live PTO and 430 (435 was a diversion that wasn't much good for work, unless you were already deaf, but SOUNDS so cool). Practical utility of the MT is limited to going down to get the mail (if you don't have too much mail), but they're kind of cute, and good for parades if you don't make a fool of yourself trying to get on and off it. Guess I would go with the others- make the Ford your "usin'" tractor, and restore the JD for the "Oh, isn't that cute- and its that darling green color" crowd.
