I have a 1965 IH504 gas and I had the same problem when I first got it. After some examination, I realized that I didn't need to adjust the travel of the linkage, I just needed to push the lever ALL THE WAY forward and push the worn out spring loaded locking pin into place with my hand. This is located at the bottom of the lever. Could your pin not be allowing your lever to lock all the way forward? Are you missing the pin? Try this: Push the lever all the way forward as far as it will go and hold it there. Take a look at your PTO to see if it is still spinning. If not, it is probably this pin. If it is still spinning, it sounds like your linkage. I know it sounds simple, but it fooled me for a day. Hope it's something simple. Mark
