I have seen some prices stating that an engine hoist cost around 4-6 thousand ???? you can get one for waaaaaay less than that but in most home garages the roof system is strong enough to support lifting a small engine. I used a beam and went accross 4 rafters and put a chain in the middle of the bean 4x4 or larger then put a chain hoist on it and lifted many engines. even a 351 modified 400 and some guys on here will tell you that in not a (small engine)!!!! As stated before get your parents permission first
