Now, assuming for a minute Cyn has a point(s), I wonder why the Chinese would harbor grudges against the West, after all the wonderful things we did for them: sent them all those missionaries, supported the Brits in their Opium War (which was fought to force the Chinese to USE opium), sent Marines during the Boxer Rebellion (which was trying to drive out foreigners monopolising trade revenues, etc), to say nothing of that paragon of democracy Old Chiang and his Missus (the prototype for the Dragon Lady of Terry And The Pirates).... Actually, today, I think you can buy from China whatever you want: if you want cheap junk, they'll happily make it for you--if you want good stuff and will pay the price, they'll happily do that... They do seem to have a problem with corruption: as seem as the iron hand relaxes, Old China reappears, so continuous on-site quality control is mandatory...
