What Gene is referring to is that he had an auction sale today. Got to meet him, his wife, son and daughter-in-law. Super nice folks! Got a friendly tour of the items that I was interested in, with tips about buying. Was a nice auction. Auctioneers were a professional act, did Gene a good job. Many things I wanted to bid on went far over my budget. Did come home with what looks like a dandy hay wagon, will be a welcome addition to my operation. Probably one of the best bargains of the show! Gotta have been a bittersweet time for Gene, as he has to retire from active farming, due to health concerns. Talked to him on the phone tonight, he seemed happy with his auction too. Hats off to you, Gene, Shirley!
