I'm quite a way south of you in central IL and we are on very productive non irrigated ground. The corn is planted at mostly at 34,300 with some at 35,600 and one field at 40,000 all in 30" rows. I pick out varieties from 104 day to 115 day to try to get started early and not end up with alot field loss in dry corn when we finish. The soybeans are planted at 145,000 in 30 inch rows. We have planted varieties ranging from 2.7 to 3.9 and this year they were either 3.1 or 3.4. We just havent seen any yield bump for planting anything past a 3.4 and untill we do we wont be planting anything later than that. Those 3.6 thru 3.9 beans can be some pretty tough cutting. bill
