The engine should have a serial number stamped on a small flat spot under the #1 spark plug, just above the engine side cover. Now, it is unlikely that the engine serial number was the same as tag, so, unless you wrote the serial number down somewhere, or have a bill of sale/receipt for the tractor with the serial number written on it, then there is probably no way to find the original number. On the other hand, it may be possible that shining a UV light on the tag would reveal the number.
