I'm sure there's a crisis of some sort somewhere, but you don't notice it in the area I am. New houses going up, fuel going down, etc. Couple of places went belly up, but they were overextended to begin with. The German equivelant to (I think) the iron workers union just had a strike whining for an 8% raise to their already overinflated salary and benefit package. Local folks seem to be happy and have plenty of work. Sawmill in town, owner/operator also builds houses, barns, roofs, etc has a pretty good size crew and there isn't enough hours in the day or days in the week to get caught up in time for the Christmas break. Sure there's some belt tightening going on, but I don't know how bad it is.
