Army, Aug 69-1971, University of NAM. I was a grunt in Big Red 1, RVN, then 360 tran after Big Red 1 came home. 360 tran was a line haul fuel outfit. Got to see lots of the the war torn country, it was beautiful, but never realized it then. Perhaps it had something to do with my att-- tee-- tude!
Any of you that wonder what it is like now? A classmate winters there every year. Says its better than the USA in most ways, he loves it there. I still have alot of ill feelings myself, and still today it brings me downward. I hope to get the chip off my shoulder someday before I die. It seems very heavy at times, and serves no usefull purpose.
I feel so very blessed to have been able to come home in one piece unlike so many less fortunate. Those are the ones I take my hat off for, especialy the ones who spent the rest of their lives wishing they were dead.
Also, for any vet not taking advantage of their VA hospital, please at least look into it, it has been nothing but wonderful for myself and many many others. Another blessing I count every day.
