#2 of course but I don't see it as realistic nor relevant. Skill jobs have benefits, union or non union, at least in these parts. With my kids they either had a degree or were working on one. Same with skills; you either have skills or are learning to get those skills. No degrees or no skills is only a temporary situation mine would be passing through. Family responsibilities only happen after. Married with 2 kids and no degrees or skills is not an option, would not happen. Not meaning to preach, just telling my situation.
Having said that, I've seen single mothers put themselves through college so it's still doable, although much harder. We also have technical colleges around here where people can go at night to learn a skill for low cost. That would be option 3.
