John: I agree with you. They have been calling us and telling us they have free hookup, fast internet service, if we have a clear view of the southern sky, and what do we get? We get hooked up and the service man makes us sign to show he had hooked us up, they needed our credit card # so they could charge us $1 to activate our account. The reception was terrible during a rain storm and we lost viewing, couldn't watch baseball games, and alot of channels we wanted to add on would cost us $10 here and $10 there (and the internet service was very poor where we live; so, we decided to cancel. That's when the doo-doo hits the fan!!!! You can not cancel prior to a year's service or you have to pay the balance of your contract. We didn't realize we had a contract. We didn't authorize them to take the money from our debit card, but they did. It made our account overdrawn--causing several NSF charges at $30 a check. When we called, they said the signature we gave to show hookup was on the back of the contract. We were screwed!!!!
