i had a ford falcon (1969) that done the very same thing. running fine and all of a sudden the motor shut off. put tranny in neutral and re-start and go again. maybe 5 miles or 5,000 miles and it's pulled it's little trick again. i changed everything possible on electrical and had the entire electrical system checked at ford dealer (of course if it don't do it when it's in the shop, then automatically there is nothing wrong) no one ever found any problem that would cause it to suddenly die. finally got tired of that BS and sold the darn thing and bought a VW. don't even get me started on that POS.
