Just about everything has been said. Because of the right to have them, memories/heirlooms, admiration, protection, collectibility (there are guns worth tens and I bet even hundreds of thousands of dollars), because one can have them (goes back to the right to have them). I don't own any myself but don't mind other people owning them when they can do it safely (I don't like the idea of murderers or drunks having them). We have a few folks from the local game club that come out and hunt so we're not against them at all really.
