Sounds a lot like the wheels manufactured by the Grid-Iron-Grip Co. in Rock Island, IL; they were manufactured as aftermarket accessories for many tractors during the steel wheel era.

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen.
