I got to go to Syria last year, very interesting trip. Took a day trip from Damascus to Palmyra, an ancient city that is about a 3 hour drive, mostly through desert / hilly terrain. Was very surprised to see several old JD combines driving down the road, obviously being transported from one part of the country to another, as there was no grain crops (or any place to grow them) anywhere I saw except possbily near Damascus. No headers on them, all open stations, probably passed 5 or 6 of them spread out over several miles. Couldn't get the camera out fast enought to get a picture.
