I don't think you can blame the unions for the canada deals because canada auto shops have stronger unions then we do I think Here is what was said on Lou Dobbs show last night. All major foreign auto makers are subsidized by their governments. Japan also has a deal that NO NEW cars can come into Japan unless Japan has a share of that auto. Now we know why Ford pickups have Mazda trannies, GM was partly owned by Japan as well as other companies. Sure sounds like we are getting the shaft.
