I bought the support the USA kool aid for 30 years. All I got was to know the service managers at the local dealers far too well and the terrible feeling after writing out checks for thousands of dollars for repairs on vehicles that were under 40,000 miles but over the 36,000 warranty.
The wife and I finally broke down and bought a Toyota. From the salesman on down, it's a completely different attitude. We've only had it 9 months and put 15,000 miles on it. It's the only new car we've ever bought that didn't have to go back for repairs before it had 5,000 miles on it. It's only been to the dealer for oil changes. It drives like a dream, sips gas, and the quality is light years ahead of any USA product we've ever owned, and, it is actully made in the US.
As for getting any money, Toyota isn't in trouble. I wonder why...........
