Haven"t lost anything myself but I had a cousin lost a decent sized riding mower off a trailer some years back. Funny thing it wasn"t hurt to badly so it got put back on the trailer. Not too much further down the road it decided to come of again. This time they didn"t get so lucky and it got pretty well totalled. That"s been probably 15 years or more ago and we"ve never let him live that one down.
Had a friend lost his drag car off the trailer a year or so back. Seems it had broken something in the rear on the last run, so they put it on the trailer and headed home. When they hit a serious bump on the interstate (we all know how those bridge approaches are)the axel decided to leave the housing which allowed the car to drop down. With the car now dropped down the rear binder got slack and came unhooked. I guess the weight of the car on the front binder then was too great because it too let go and the car backed off onto the road and headed to the breakdown lane to relative safety. Problem was it hit a bump on it"s own on the way to the side and changed course headed right in front of a semi. Needless to say the semi won and the car won"t ever see the track again.
