It's like putting a 6V charger on a 12V battery. It will work to a point, but you'll probably never get them fully charged. Also, it may not be healthy for the batteries, but that's just speculation on my part.
On my 4020, leaving the 12V charger on overnight with all the posts hooked up does next to nothing compared to disconnecting the posts and charging each battery for a few hours.
Also, jump starting or using the battery charger boost is pretty worthless on that tractor for the same reason.
