If that 4020 is a side console you know that it is worth a lot more than what she wants. If you are not a collector and don't need the tractors for your operation, why don't you offer to sell them for her and split everything 50/50 that you get over $4500? She probbly could use a little extra money and you would have a clearer conscience down the road (at least I would if I was in your shoes.)

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity".
