I got to pay for correcting my share of stuff I didn't know to look for...like "half-fast" construction techniques used when he replaced the pipes inder the house with PVC, then didn't properly support the waste lines...allowing them to flex and come apart at the joints. Fixed that mess, and never complained because I just wasn't experienced enough about home buying to know I should've crawled under the house myself instead of taking anyone's word about anything.
And I'm living with the shoddy construction og the block garage, because I didn't know that you could actually make so many mistakes when building a structure.
But the septic tank issue...with the tank underground, I had no idea that an "experienced" builder, as this guy was, would build over the tank. He actually led me to believe that the tank was behind the house and beyond the foundation, not under it.
Know what this guy's doing for a living today? He runs a home inspection service. Guess it takes one to know one.
