I'm not too worried. Their scrap program won't get very far. The people that is driving the clunkers are doing so because they can't afford something else, and even if the goverment was to give people $1,000 for their clunker, they couldn't buy much for a replacement for that.
I agree the high price of scrap got rid of an awful lot of old stuff. The local fencerows are a whole lot cleaner than they once were. I noticed enough old haybalers got scrapped in this area so that there is no such thing as a cheap one anymore when I was looking this past year. Used to be able to buy an old square baler like a JD 14T for a few hundred dollars.
