I am biased and I would not own a Belarus or a Zetor. I do not particularly like John Deeres either. My opinion is that a tractor is a machine that should be trouble free and render good service year after year until there is at least 7000 hours on it. Buy either a Ford, Case or IH. Find one of the above in the 80 to 100 horsepower range that has less than 3000 hours. Make certain that is well maintained and has been sheltered from the environment. Do not fret over the price. If the tractor is in excellant condition the premium that you pay in purchase price will be forgotten after you have received continued service from the machine. If you buy one of the cheap imports you will have to remind yourself of the "bargin" you got when you are spending money to try to keep the thing going. The cost of ownership over the life of the tractor is what you should be focusing on. Used implements for the 80 to 100 hp tractors are no more pricey than for the smaller tractors, the demand is less. You can perform a smaller task with a larger tractor but you cannot perform the larger task with a too small tractor. The efficiency of the larger tractor is a major benefit.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
