Did not get near as cold here as they were predicting. Was suppose to get down to about 24° but we really only got down to 28° and then it was only for a couple of hours. That 4° difference and the amount of hours below freezing really means a lot to us when it comes to frozen pipes and crops lost.
I know the strawberry farmers are happy to get threw this past week. All picking was stopped and covers were installed over the rows to try and help the crop threw the cold snap. Average farm has about 4 to 6 acres of berries to cover but the local news showed one large farm that has 15 acres of berries this year. Now that is farming the hard way.
