Sounds like you need a 2-135 White Dave. The 540 runs at 1700 engine rpms. 1000 runs at 2200 engine rpms. On things like the slinger manure spreader with a 540 PTO,or that snowthrower,you can crank it up to 18-1850 and gain some speed. My 1850 won't even run all the way up to full PTO speed. I put a combine motor in it and the pump is set to max out at a slower rpm and I never turned it up.
