Many say it"s your coil. I have one question about that. Have you switched the electrical system from 6 volt positive ground to 12 volt negative ground, and if so did you switch to a 12 volt coil and make sure it"s neg ground with the 12 volt system?
If it"s smoking black smoke that means that it"s getting too much fuel, I know my H the choke will vibrate closed while running. I have to always keep an eye on it and push the rod back in. I could put a kink in the rod to prevent this but never have yet.
Usually a condenser will act up all the time but a coil will act up sometimes after it warms up.
When your H quits take the air intake hose off at the carb and see if gas runs out, if so rebuild the carb or your seat may be loose where it screws in. One other thing I"ve seen on the ole H"s is a vacum leak that is only present when it warms up.
