Perkins 152 Diesel

After 6814 hours my Perkins Diesel is ready for a rebuild. I am getting conflicting advice as to my rebuilding this engine. I have never rebuilt a diesel; however, I rebuilt several gasoline engines. I would be interested in comments on the feasibility of undertaking this task, also any suggestions as to sources for rebuilding parts or engine kits.
