If anyone tells me a garbage man (or septic tank pumper, etc.) is overpaid, I say, "if he's getting paid so much, why aren't YOU doing his job?" I consider myself fortunate that I was able to get an education and find salaried work, but I refuse to look down on the people who keep our country running.
An employee of our local trash hauler was backed over by a garbage truck. A young guy, he'll never work again. No amount of money will make up for his pain.
