I put 2 new 6 volts in a john deere 530 last summer. One was an interstate the other was a John Deere battery. My john deere dealer only had one 6 volt in stock,so i took the interstate also. When i went to start it this winter the interstate was dead, the john deere was good. The interstate would not charge,so i replaced it with another JD battery. When the interstates first came out they were kind of a cheap battery that was good for a tractor you were getting rid off,a lot of jocky's used them. Now they say they are top of the line.I don't see it,i'd sooner buy from walmart. At least there you can get a new replacement battery without a hassle. The interstate dealers always have an excuse for not covering your battery. I was told i should have removed the battery in the winter time.I asked him if he removed his car battery every night.
