I don't know what horsepower the VH4D is, but is probably bigger than the Onan that my brothers replaced with a Briggs and Stratton last year. Fairly simple conversion. For something bigger than what you can get with a Briggs or a Honda, I am not sure what would be a simple conversion. Years ago in the factory where I worked they replaced a small continental in a skid loader with a 1.6L Pinto car engine. The maintenance man went to the junkyard with a tape measure and found one about the same size. They added a belt drive governor like used on combines with car engines and it performed great. I think the original was water cooled, so it wasn't that radical of a conversion.
