In 2001 I had stomach surgery. I had my stomach stapled to lose weight. It is called bariatric surgery and it was done thru 6 small incisions on my belly. I was in the hospital for 3 days and could have went back to work in 2 weeks but I had the sick leave and took 6 weeks. I had very little pain and the only problem I had with the surgery was I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. It was also my first surgery and I was nervous until they gave me the "don"t care" shot. After that, it just didn"t matter! I was very blessed in that the surgery allowed me to lose almost 160 pounds and has made a tremendous impact on my health. Good luck with your surgery and do listen to your doctor about what to do and how long to wait before resuming tractor driving.
