We always but our end to end after they have set for a few days after baling and when you pull them apart they look just like when you put them together and have 2 year oul hay with no spoilage at all between still green . We do get 3 or 4 in. on the ground. We use a 567 J.D. with mesh wrap .Don"t stack them or let the sides touch or you will have spoilage every place they touch. If you put on a hill water will run away not under the bale. But you only need a gentle slope.
