You might try the University of Nebraska's tractor test lab's archieves. They will sell you copies of their reports for a few bucks. Don't know about the Ford, but the gas and diesel Massey's were a few hp apart, advantage to the diesel. Also, consider who you will go to for parts, service, advice. The reason I learned to work on my MH50 the way I did over time was that the nearest dealer was 50 miles away.
