With age often wisdom follows, especially when it hurts. What old guy is going to run across a street dodging bullets to throw a grenade in a window when he knows there are machines (grenade launchers) to do that job..safer. Most the old guys know they are not indestructable so they are more apt to use their brains that their brawn. Granted fire fights happen but especially dealing with a fanatical terrorist the mind game must be played. Remember that those people were raised from childhood for 1 purpose. To kill you butt.
