What you see in the bottom of that oil is water not gas, Gas will mix with oil and won't separate like that.
You didn't mention if the oil smelled like gas. I would take something like a feeder plunger and put a hose on it and siphon the clear liquid off and reuse the oil til you get er running if the oil feels like it has a good viscosity. Then do a good change. Also you like fires, try to light the clear liquid to see that I may not be right about water.
