When it isn't working, hold the switch down and hit the door sharply with a rubber mallet. If it starts working, it's the motor for sure. Also move the door open and closed while holding the switch. If it works at one point, but not another, it's broken wires in the accordion joint at the door jamb. Just a couple of easy tricks I learned over the years. HTH Good Luck and God Bless.
