I have a CASE 420B that was originally a T/L/B. The loader and backhoe have been taken off and I'm attempting to add a PTO and 3 point hitch to make it a utility tractor. I have acquired the back half of a CASE 600B?. It has the same torque tube as my tractor, but the trans/axle housing is about 3" longer. The PTO "pod" assembly has the same bolt pattern as on my tractor and both tractors have CASE-O-MATIC. The PTO shaft that extends from the PTO assembly forward to the spline in the back side of the CASE-O-MATIC goes through the wall between the torque tube and trans/axle housings. The PTO shaft has a seal/bearing assembly that slips into a socket in the separating wall. When I looked at the same area on my tractor, there's a cap of some sort covering that opening. My question is this: That covering or plug on my tractor at that wall, can it be removed easily and can the PTO shaft be slid into place to fill that opening? Help, please! Ken McWilliams Dayton, OH
