I have been an advocate of synthetic oil for about a decade now- it is all I run in my cars, and I have had excellent luck with them. This despite sometimes going too long between oil changes. I had my Ford 650 rebuilt about 35 engine hrs ago. Of course, I broke it in on conventional oil. I was thinking of switching over to synthetic, hopefully to keep that engine running until I am old(er) and gray(er). Do you think it would be a mistake to run synthetic in a 1957 engine? Perhaps a blend? I know synthetic can expand rubber seals more than normal- I wonder if this could trigger a leak.
