Isn't this forum great? Where else can one get so much good advice from so many people for such a cheap price? Is your land flat or hilly? Has it been cleared (like a few years ago) and growing back or is this a first time clearing job? Ford N's are handy tractors (I have one) but not the "universal-do everything" tractor that some folks think they are. Do you want one because it is a historically "neat" machine and you will keep it in realtively good shape or are you really going to work it? A beat "N" doesn't have the same retained value that the refurbished ones do. I think what a lot of these guys are trying to say is that for a good working tractor, $3000 will get you something more suitable than an "N." But if you are going to play with it, work it a little, love it and try to keep it in realtively good shape, and if your geographical conditions are favorable, go for the "N." However, a M-H 135 is an excellent tractor (as are others like it.) I use my Super "C" with fast hitch and 3 pt. conversion a lot more than I use my 2N. It just works better for me. Again, NO CHARGE for my advice! And remember, the journey is as much fun as the arrival at the destination!

As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
