Keith, I think you have a driveline problem. The driveshaft from clutch disc to diff has a square drive with a pin at the diff. There is a possibility it's clutch slip, , but if the adjustment is ok, the engine has to come out for starters. If the clutch adjustment is ok, and clutch looks ok after removal, check the square drive by shining a light down the bellhousing and trying to rotate the shaft. If there's any movement, it's bad,and the machine will have to be split at the diff. It's a very common problem on MC's and 40C's. The M also has the same set-up, but of course is a heck of a lot easier to split. Check a manual if you have one or ask here for a diagram. Good luck !! RonMC
