Dan: Have ya tried Sears? I tried to get a 1987 manual last week and they said no but that the 1988's are in stock? Similar madel number too. There is a "garden tractor Forum" where ya might get better coverage. Check archives there as another had belt troubles and found the fix. Harvey

Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation.
