I have a 1983 240 massey ferguson tractor(3 cyl diesel) that I bought 10 months ago.Battery Had worked find starting tractor until yesterday morning when I went to shed to start tractor and engine would barly turn over.Left battery on charger over night and battery isn't taken charge.Alternator is working. No shorts.Battery tester shows battery is weak. Can someone tell me what would make a battery just lose charge overnight? Is it possable to purchase a battery at a local automotive parts dealer instead of paying a fortune for one at a tractor dealership? And if so can someone tell me what amp battery I would need to get a good supply of power to feed starter. Thanks
