We had a 'sweeper magnet' about 8' wide in a manufacturing plant where I worked as a young man. It was about the size of a small utility trailer (not as long though). Whenever things were slack on the construction crew somebody would be detailed to take it 'for a drive' around the plant. It had a gasoline engine powered generator that energized a series of electro-magnets mounted in line with the axle... It had enough whoopie to pickup most anything that wasn't tied down. Now and again I've seen similar units in used equipment advertisements... I'll keep my eyes peeled. regards.. bbott
