Kinda like Jerry Clower used to tell about the Ledbetter family. There was a big fire threatening the town. Everybody around was out there fighting it when the whole Ledbetter family came rolling right into the middle of it. The whole bunch of'em jumped out of the truck and started fighting it for all they were worth with everything they had til they had it put out. The whole town took up a collection and gave it to them as a reward for working so hard to put out the fire and save the town. Somebody asked Uncle Vercy what he was gonna do with the money. He said "well,first thing I'm gonna do is get some new brakes for that old truck!"
