It's a double-edged sword for many - for the farming aspect, yes the snow is great and needed moisture. For ranching/cattle, snow is tough on animals and many are calving during this part of the year and baby calves don't do well in wet, cold conditions... yet again, the moisture will help the summer pastures to produce well.
I've always tried to convince Dad to choose either farming OR cattle, not both. If I had my way, the fences would be torn out and the plow would be seen in all of our (former) pastures.
