You can start in the Article Archives and search for an article on engine removal/replacement. You could also look in sponsored links. Someone there would probably be advertising a video on doing an engine removal. It would be good if you understood the process as it would be done correctly before proceeding to what could go wrong. Older tractors are relatively simple and user-friendly, and easy to work on. However, they are old, which leads to bolts rusted in place, bolt heads rounded off, and parts broken/missing from previous predations on the old tractor. Also, parts like engines are heavy. Really heavy. The engine is also the frame on many older tractors. If you unbolt the wrong parts, both ends fall into the middle. If you take bolts out in the wrong order, the same thing happens. I guess one of your inexperienced salvage technicians might get a hernia and the other a broken leg from letting the engine drop. They could set fire to the shop using a torch on a stuck bolt. They could run oil, gas, or antifreeze on the floor. They could get the engine loose and find out it is too heavy for their hoist.
